Words can hardly express how beautiful, loving, artistic, young, and creative my cousin Shauna was. Shauna you were a wonderful mother and friend. Thank you to all her helper angels who took such good care of her. We are sending warm hugs and caring thoughts to Dante Cheryl, Chuck, Brandon, Jen, Dave, and the kids.
Love and will miss you forever!

I only happened on this site a month or so ago. I am fighting a cancer as well. Seeing and feeling how Shauna dealt with this disease, while first quite a shock to me as I saw the notes she would post tail off (still containing her wonderful, contagious spirit for life), the way she stood up till the end provides inspiration. It is scary that there very well may be such an end for myself but her example provides comfort, context, and spiritual relief. Those of you in her family and circle are clearly all the better for counting her as your friend.
Love,
Bruce (a fellow Bruin)
Why does this terrible disease always take the good ones. Thanks Shauna for sharing your creative spirit and wonderful way with words with us. I will miss seeing our ucla on line.
good night sweet princess. we know you were growing tired and a cure was not to be. with tearful eyes we knew you suffered and saw you fade away. although we couldn't bear to lose you, we couldn't bid you stay, a golden heart stopped beating, creative hands laid to rest. our hearts broke to prove to us heaven only takes the best. look down on us sweet shauna, we need your drive and strength.
i would also like to add my love and admiration to my sister cheryl for the
selfless and willing sacrifices she has made during these last few years and will be making for the next few years for her family and of course, our family. i know it has been a trying journey but one made willingly and with eyes wide open. i know she is totally commited to the task ahead. my love and sympathy to dave, kaelin and spencer. shauna will be with you forever. we will miss her forever. love, dante shirley

Shauna and I only met in person once but I considered her a dear and brave friend. She was such an inspiration about how to live life fully, with laughter, love and kindness. I am so saddened by the news and so very sorry for her family's loss. I pray she is at peace. Her soul will live forever. We may not be able to see it, but like love, when we feel it, we know it's real. We just know. Good bye Shauna. - Tara
Why are the good ones taken away at such a young age? Her creativity was amazing, her writings were moving, and her fight most definitely inspirational. Thank you for all you gave.

My prayers are with all who loved her. She has impressed so many people with her amazing talent and her creations will inspire others for years to come.
