My hair just kept falling out - all over my shower, my sink, my counter, my floor, my hats and my clothes. Even getting into my mouth and eyes. So while my kids were at their Grannie's house yesterday, my hairdresser fit me in for a 1/4" buzzcut. Paris, bless her little heart, showed up and suprised me to offer me moral support. I didn't expect it to affect me so much. I was suprised by how upset I was by it. It was really hard to sit there and watch all of my hair come off. Especially since it was so busy in the salon, being the Saturday before Christmas and all. Everyone was staring at me wondering what the heck I was doing. They probably all thought I was a Britney Spears wannabe (except I had underwear on LOL). My hair dresser was so sweet and didn't charge me. One lady sitting across from me gave me a thumbs up.
Now my hair keeps falling out, but the pieces are smaller and shorter and a little less messy. And my cue ball head is getting patchy bald spots. Thank goodness for all of my fabulous hats!
I had called Kaelin to warn her and her response was "Poopy, I don't want to see you without your hair." But when I went to pick them up today, they got a big kick out of it. So all is well on the home front. That monkey is off my back. Kaelin did say I looked like a boy though. :(
I feel very self conscious and naked without my hair. And cold! It will take some getting used to. And if all goes as expected, I should lose it completely here in a few days. Can't imagine being completely bald. But I guess baby steps help. It's definately easier to take care of and I will save a ton of money on hair cutting, hair coloring, and hair products, not to mention waxing and time spent shaving etc by the time it's all said and done.
Dave is back in town as of about 4pm today. They got 3rd place in the national tourney in Arizona. My mom is off to Seattle tonight and is taking my kids with her. They are going to go innertubing in the morning with my brother, Jennifer and my 2.5 year old niece, Ella. We'll meet up with them at my Uncle Jim's house on Christmas Eve, where my dad's side of the family gathers to celebrate. Dave and I will drive up tomorrow with the dog and pressies. We're going to do laundry and wrap presents tonight, uninterrupted. If I had been more on top of things, we could be sitting here relaxing or going to see a movie instead. I'd rather be doing that!
Thanks to everyone for all of the xmas cards, photos, hats, gifts, well wishes, phone calls and emails. We really appreciate everything everyone has done for us. And we are so thankful to have each and every one of you in our lives. We wish you peace, happiness and a magical 2008.

Shauna: I am so proud of you for handling your hair lose so well. Having the kids accept it is huge. Good for them. You will manage fine when you are completely bald. Just keep those hats, scarf's and wig (if you end up getting one) handy. Keep your positive attitude. I think you are awesome! Have a great Christmas with all your family. Love, JO
