Chemo was a Go

My blood counts were up so I was infused with poison today. I should be good for a few days and then feel like crud for a few more. I'm hoping to be good to go in time to see Kaelin play soccer at 9am on Saturday, but last round I didn't quite feel well enough until Sunday. I don't think that will keep me away though. I just may be cranky, so I apologize to some of you in advance. :)

They sent me home with a bag of Nupagen injections. I had to do this when I was doing the Folfox infusions every other week and not recovering fast enough after getting diagnosed. Every night for 10 days after getting my chemo, Dave would give me a shot in my stomach before bed to help recolonize my white blood cells. So I'm at his mercy and I have to be on my best behavior while he's wielding a needle!

Enjoy your week!!!

I am so sorry to hear about the shots. But if they help you recover from the chemo and keep you fighting the fight - then probably for the best, right? You have been on my mind so much lately. I have been feeling so terrible that your room is not completely finished yet. When you are up to it, I would like to get that painted and finish what Tom and I started. So will have to get Paris to take you for the day or something....

Sending you big hugs!

Have to admit, I'm kind of relieved that you could do chemo. I know it sucks, but you have some cancer booty to kick. Dave is a trooper to do those shots for you... I don't think I could do that!! You are the biggest trooper of all--too much for one person to go through. You are amazing and strong. So proud of you for fighting the fight like you do.

Hope you feel like some walks this week. I sure do miss you! I'm going through Shauna withdrawals ;)

And Laura... I thought I was supposed to help you paint!!! I would love to help anyway that I can.

Love, p

Glad your blood levels allowed the chemo though I know being poisoned really sux. I'm making chicken soup tomorrow for Jane and will bring some your way also. I will plan on picking Kaelin up on Wed and taking her to acro and I will also bring her home, no worries on each just let her know I'll be there at 5:05.

Call if you need anything, even help with the shot. Growing up on the farm you'd be amazed at all the things I have done in my life.

Prayers for an easy time this go round! Love you! Jaci

I think I have to agree with all the others. Glad your count was up so you can have the chemo. Stinks that you will have the sides affects, hopefully the shots will give you the relief you need. Thinking of you!

Hugs!

I hate to say it but I too, am glad that you were able to get your chemo. I know it must really stink, but just think of the work its doing. Keeping good thoughts that you'll feel better Sat AM to see Kaelin play. Ouch on the shots!! I had to have them after my 2nd surgery (for different reasons, of course) but it was no fun!!! I got them 2x a day. My stomach looked like I got into a major fight. Hang in there and feel better soon!
Hugs
